Oct 21, 2009

EMCE were requested to carry out an energy survey for The Forestry Commission at Wykeham Nurseries Scarborough.

The survey identified potential savings to the lighting and heating loads of the offices and warehouse buildings.

EMCE proposed:

  • Changing the 400w Low bay lighting to the warehouse areas to 4 x 80w T5 low bay light fittings.
  • Changing the 1800mm twin switch start fittings in the garage areas to 1500mm twin T5 high frequency units.
  • Changing the 1800mm single switch start fittings in the offices to 1500mm single T5 high frequency units.
  • Changing the 500w Tungsten Halogen flood lights to new LED lighting units.
  • Removal of the old night storage heaters.

The survey identified that by making these changes an overall saving of 7.4Kw could be achieved to the overall lighting load.
